The clouds have broken in Oro Valley! Mary Jacobs, our unimpressive town manager "resigned" last week. A few employees have reached out to me to tell me that her resignation was not voluntary.
As a longtime resident of OV, I can tell you that the town looked worse under her. Athletic fields got worse, trees got worse, side of the roads got worse, employee morale got worse, etc. Responses to citizen input was also poor. Nothing was ever the town's fault. Accepting accurate criticism and fix the problems is a strength, not a weakness. The basics were suffering and we went from a Community of Excellence to a Community of "OK". This is a good day for the OV.
